DTRIC Insurance | Hawaii’s Best Mocktails

In 2018, Becker Communications was tasked by DTRIC Insurance to launch a campaign that would bring raise the awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence, encourage responsible alcohol consumption and service, and reduce the incidences of drunk driving. DTRIC Insurance partnered with the Hawaii Restaurant Association to produce a new online Mocktails book with recipes from participating restaurants and bars. The online recipe book launched with the Hawaii’s Best Mocktails Competition.

Contest/Event Planning and Management
Successfully managed all aspects of events, including: secured 13 participating restaurants and bars; developed contest format, rules and regulations; solicited and confirmed local celebrities/personalities as judges; sourced, negotiated and secured equipment rentals, entertainment, in-kind donations, and volunteers; script development; on-site event and stage management; and more.

Media Relations
Secured multiple media placements including coverage in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Hawaii News Now Sunrise, KITV4 Morning News, and KHON2 Living808.

Advertising and Marketing
Creative development and copywriting for radio ads; coordinating photo and video shoots for the recipe book and digital platforms; and flyers to promote the event.

Digital Communications
Developed of event landing page on DTRIC Insurance website, including event info, registration form, sponsor recognition, etc.; content development for and ongoing management of DTRIC Insurance’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts; and development of a social media content for competition day to encourage hashtags and online engagement.
